Krumme Lanke

For the European summer Beno and I lived in a very tiny apartment in Friedinau a very beautiful, leafy little suburb on the outskirts of central Berlin. The suburb itself is about as different from the stereotype of the gritty, vibrant, poor city of Berlin. One of the main attractions of living in that area for me was the nearby lakes, Schlachtensee and Krumme Lanke situated in the big and beautiful Grunewald forest. Essentially they are Berlin's beach. In good weather the place is teeming with families, spread out all over the dirty beach, nude elderly Deutch with their saggy buns, teenage shoodies etc. It's a really great place to hang out.

This is Ada, our former house mate, she is nearly three.
